I’m a writer + music journalist fascinated by questions of gender, culture, and power. I’m also a songwriter under the name Keeper.

Currently, I work at NPR Music where I write, edit our new canon of women’s music, and help unknown bands get noticed through the Tiny Desk Contest. My voice has also appeared on podcasts like Pop Culture Happy Hour, All Songs Considered and World Cafe.

Previously, I freelanced for publications like The Establishment, Bandcamp Daily, the Washington City Paper, She Shreds magazine, and Bitch magazine.

For fun, I run a weekly link roundup newsletter called Link Plz and make collaborative zines.

You can catch me on Twitter, chatting about friends, my favorite rock bands and cool things happening in the world. You can email me at mlorusso [at] npr [dot] org.

Thanks for stopping by.
